Sparse soil cover over an ancient riverbed gives the derelict, 60 year old bush vines incentive to dig deep to find the rich reserves which these old vines convert into layered fruit flavours. This gently handled, basket-pressed wine was bottled with no fining or filtration. A pretty plum-spiced, nuanced nose leads to lush waves of savoury, soft strawberry and bright berry delectability.
Grower: Mark Briggs, Foggo Road, McLaren Vale. Winemaker Tom Robinson hand-picked these berries with a small group of friends and hand-bottled the immaculate results. 30 cases produced.
